Project: ADDit Concept Tool
During the 8 months of the Focus Project we intensively studied all the aspects of product development: design, testing and development of a new product as well as project management and sponsoring. We reached our objective to present a novel, functioning prototype at the public roll-out in May 2015.
The project and the development is terminated. Currently the Concept Tool is employed for exhibitions, events and industrial workshops of the ETH Zurich. We are pleased to share our experience of product development with Additive Manufacturing also with you!
The Addit Concept Tool demonstrates Additive Manufacturing on behalf of a hammer drill. The compact shape and the every-day use of drilling machines encouraged us to show the various advantages of Additive Manufacturing.
With the components of the Concept Tool you can experience Additive Manufacturing:
- Improved lightweight design by load optimised structures
- Performance enhancement through the optimised cooling system
- Integration of functions by including sensors and a complete suction system
- Improved product development process by rapid prototyping and an iterative approach
